NBC Set to Air ‘Wicked: One Wonderful Night’ Musical Special

LOS ANGELES, CA — NBC is set to air a two-hour musical special titled ‘Wicked: One Wonderful Night’ on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. The event will showcase performances from the cast of the highly anticipated film ‘Wicked: For Good,’ which releases in theaters on November 21.

Hosted by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the special promises to celebrate the beloved musical that explores the lives of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch. Both characters are portrayed by Grande and Erivo, respectively. The show will feature songs from both the prior movie and the upcoming sequel, along with sneak peeks of never-before-seen clips.

The performance was filmed at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in front of a live audience. It will include a 37-piece orchestra led by musical director Stephen Oremus, alongside appearances from cast members like Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible), Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard of Oz), Ethan Slater (Boq), Bowen Yang (Pfannee), and Marissa Bode (Nessarose).

According to NBC, the set will be transformed into an Emerald City-inspired stage, complete with stunning visual effects and musical arrangements. Fans can expect emotional performances, including a rendition of the poignant song ‘For Good,’ as well as new tracks like ‘No Place Like Home’ and ‘The Girl in the Bubble.’

The event is being touted as a treat for fans eagerly awaiting the climax of the Wicked saga. ‘Wicked: For Good’ picks up after the events of last year’s film, delving deeper into the story of Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship and the challenges they face in the Land of Oz.

‘Wicked: One Wonderful Night’ will also be available for streaming on Peacock starting November 7, 2025, ensuring fans can enjoy the full experience on their own time.
