NDTV Reports Revenue Growth Ahead of CEO Appointment

NEW DELHI, India — NDTV has announced substantial revenue growth for the quarter and the full year ending March 31, 2025, reflecting its ambitious strategy to become a global media powerhouse. The company reported a 19% increase in revenue during the fourth quarter compared to the same period last year, largely driven by its coverage of prominent national events such as the Mahakumbh and Delhi Elections.
For the entire fiscal year, NDTV Network saw a top-line growth of 26%. The digital segment also surged with a reported 47% increase in users across its websites and apps, according to Google Analytics. NDTV attributes this significant performance to a series of investments aimed at modernizing its infrastructure and expanding its distribution reach.
In a press release, NDTV stated that these efforts are part of a bold strategy designed to transform the company into a next-generation media network. Notable expansions include the launch of NDTV Marathi for regional audiences and NDTV World for global viewers. The year has also seen the introduction of significant programs, like the NDTV World Summit, to foster dialogues among global leaders.
Despite a bottom-line loss linked to these investments, the company remains confident these steps are necessary for achieving long-term growth. “FY 2024-25 was a defining year for NDTV,” said Sanjay Pugalia, Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief. He added that the company aims to lead with ambition and meet the expectations of audiences and stakeholders.
In addition to its financial achievements, NDTV has announced the appointment of Rahul Kanwal as the new CEO, effective June 16, 2025. Kanwal, a veteran journalist with over 25 years of experience, is currently the News Director at India Today and Aaj Tak, making him a well-respected figure in the media landscape. His background includes influential roles at both Headlines Today and Zee News.
This transition in leadership is expected to further strengthen NDTV’s initiatives towards innovation and growth. The company looks forward to building upon its recent successes in the coming years.
