LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team opened Big Ten play with a strong performance, sweeping Michigan 25-22, 25-10, 25-13 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Wednesday night. The match attracted a crowd of 8,543 fans who witnessed the unbeaten Huskers improve to 11-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Nebraska’s offense was powerful, hitting .380 compared to Michigan’s .108. Harper Murray led the Huskers with 11 kills and added seven digs and two blocks. Virginia Adriano contributed 10 kills and three blocks, while Andi Jackson recorded an impressive .778 hitting percentage with eight kills. Rebekah Allick also chipped in with nine kills and two blocks.

Setter Bergen Reilly orchestrated the offense, recording 28 assists, nine digs, and five kills. With her performance, she surpassed head coach Dani Busboom Kelly on the all-time assists list at Nebraska, moving into fifth place in the rally scoring era.

The match started competitively, with Nebraska edging out Michigan in set one. A series of kills by Allick and Jackson helped Nebraska pull away, and a crucial Michigan service error sealed the set at 25-22. The Huskers powered through set two with a .565 hitting percentage, dominating the Wolverines to win 25-10.

By set three, Nebraska established full control. Following an 8-8 tie, the Huskers delivered a decisive 7-0 run, with Reilly serving and contributing an ace to push the score to 20-9. Nebraska finished the set 25-13, completing the sweep.

Defensively, Nebraska outdug Michigan 37-24, with Olivia Mauch leading the effort with a match-high 11 digs. The Huskers also excelled in serving, recording five aces from five different players.

Next, Nebraska will host Maryland on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT as they continue their pursuit of an undefeated season.
