NEET-PG Postponed Amid Alleged Exam Irregularities: Ministry to Reassess Entrance Test Processes
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduate (NEET-PG) has been postponed, following concerns over irregularities in various competitive exams in India. The National Board of Examination had flagged suspicious activities on social media offering leaked question papers for a price.
As a precautionary measure to ensure the integrity of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination, the Ministry of Health has decided to postpone the exam scheduled for tomorrow. The Ministry plans to conduct a rigorous assessment of the exam processes to ensure fairness and robustness.
This development marks the second major exam to be delayed after the cancellation of the UGC-NET due to leaked question papers. Additionally, controversies surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) have added to the ongoing exam irregularity concerns.
Dr. Rakesh Sharma, the OSD to the President and a Member of the Governing Body at NBEMS, has assured the public of a secure and transparent exam process for NEET-PG 2024. The examination will be held through a computer-based test nationwide, with strict Standard Operating Procedures in place to safeguard question paper confidentiality.
With collaborative efforts from stakeholders like medical colleges, the MoHFW, and various entities, NBEMS aims to conduct a smooth and secure NEET-PG 2024 exam. Stringent surveillance measures will be implemented, including a flying squad comprising key personnel to monitor exam centers for any security breaches.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has come under scrutiny for alleged irregularities in recent entrance exams, leading to protests and calls for its disbandment. The Ministry of Health’s decision to postpone NEET-PG reflects a commitment to upholding the sanctity of the exam process.
