Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels 38 Sailings Across Three Ships for Winter 2025-26 Season
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of 38 sailings across three of its ships, affecting the winter 2025-26 season. The impacted ships are the Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Dawn. These cancellations span various regions, including the Caribbean, South America, Antarctica, Africa, and Arabia.
The Norwegian Jewel will see all its voyages between November 23, 2025, and April 5, 2026, cancelled. These itineraries included 7-night and 14-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with stops in destinations such as Costa Maya, Cozumel, Harvest Caye, Roatan, Grand Cayman, Aruba, Grenada, Antigua, and St. Thomas. After the cancellations, the ship will reposition to Philadelphia and begin a new series of 7-night cruises to Bermuda and Charleston, South Carolina, starting April 16, 2026.
The Norwegian Star’s cancelled cruises include its full season in South America and Antarctica, with voyages scheduled between November 20, 2025, and April 14, 2026. This includes a 14-night repositioning cruise from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro and cruises combining Antarctica with stops in Argentina and Chile. The ship will resume operations with a repositioning cruise from Lisbon to Southampton on April 26, 2026, followed by summer itineraries in Iceland, Norway, and Scotland.
The Norwegian Dawn’s affected sailings are between November 2, 2025, and April 12, 2026. This includes a 21-night Africa itinerary departing from Barcelona, which was set to visit various exotic destinations such as Casablanca, Agadir, Dakar, and Walvis Bay. The ship’s schedule will resume with a 7-night Mediterranean cruise from Lisbon to Barcelona on April 19, 2026, followed by its planned Western Mediterranean summer cruises.
Norwegian Cruise Line has not provided a reason for these cancellations but has assured that the affected ships will be redeployed during the same timeframe. Guests booked on the cancelled sailings will receive a full refund to their original form of payment and a 10% discount as a Future Cruise Credit.
