Oahu Shores Reality Show Launches on Peacock Featuring Local Cast
HONOLULU, Hawaii — The stars of Oahu’s newest reality TV show, “Oahu Shores,” celebrated the release of their six-episode series on the streaming platform Peacock on Thursday, October 9.
The show features a group of Oahu natives, including Keolu Ramos, Raven Wood, Marcus Hee, and Alex Fowler, alongside Molokai native Kamalani Pico, and Guam natives Skye Baker and Rachael Peterson. It follows these friends as they navigate love, heartbreak, and friendships while embracing their Hawaiian culture.
“When people watch this show, I really hope that they get to see our culture. That’s something that’s never been shown before, especially on this big of a platform,” said Wood. Pico added, “I’m excited for people to see living off the aina, how to malama the aina, and just being family-oriented as a whole,” urging viewers to appreciate sustainability and community.
The show captures the essence of life in Hawaii, with cast members stepping out of their parents’ expectations to carve their own paths. Each character faces unique challenges; for instance, Skye must choose between returning to Guam for her long-distance boyfriend or staying in Oahu. Meanwhile, Alex deals with the aftermath of a rumor about his ex-girlfriend Rachael.
“This is our home,” said Fowler in a trailer released prior to the show. Upcoming episodes will also delve into Kaui Goodness’s search for love on the mainland, and Marcus Hee’s experiences as the youngest member of the group aiming to connect with his friends amidst complex relationships.
The complete first season is available to stream, with subscriptions starting at $10.99 a month. Viewers can look forward to vibrant scenery, emotional ties, and insightful portrayals of life in Hawaii.
