Oregon Contestant Stuns on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ with Impressive Solve
Los Angeles, CA – A contestant amazed viewers and host Ryan Seacrest on Thursday’s (October 30) episode of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ with a surprising puzzle solve in the Bonus Round. Ashika Bhan, a beach-loving contestant from Salem, Oregon, was up against Steff Du Bois, who sports a mohawk and hails from Chicago, Illinois, and Kimmy Blankenburg, an employee at a horror apparel company in Rochester, New York.
Bhan started strong, winning the $1,000 Toss-Up and the $2,000 Toss-Up puzzles. Although she encountered misfortune with Bankrupts twice in Round 1, she took advantage of her opponents’ errors, solving the “Same Letter” puzzle and earning $5,700. Steff Du Bois managed to score in the Mystery Round, but Bhan responded with confidence during the Express Round by winning a Road Scholar tour to Romania, including a visit to Dracula’s Castle, worth $10,700.
Despite Du Bois answering correctly in the Triple Toss-Up round, he couldn’t halt Bhan’s momentum. After securing the last Triple Toss-Up and the Speed-Up puzzle, Bhan concluded the episode with a total of $29,400 in cash and her trip to Romania.
As the Bonus Round approached, Bhan chose the “Phrase” category, along with the letters ‘P, G, C, and A.’ Unfortunately, only the letter ‘G’ appeared on the board, creating a challenging two-word puzzle that read: ‘_ _ G _ L _ / _ N L _ _ E L _.’ What seemed nearly impossible became a gripping moment. As Seacrest encouraged her to think out loud, Bhan whispered, “I know it,” seemingly solving the puzzle before the timer started.
With the timer beginning, Bhan confidently shouted, “Highly Unlikely.” “She did know it!” Seacrest remarked, astonished. He then revealed her prize envelope, which disclosed an additional $50,000, bringing her total winnings to $79,400. Celebrating alongside her husband and loved ones, Bhan’s remarkable achievement drew ecstatic reactions from fans online.
Commenters on social media praised her skills, with one fan noting, “That was a big toughie. The fact she got it, I’m impressed.” Another added, “Wow good job Ashika! That was highly unlikely a good solve!” Her performance has certainly ignited excitement for future episodes of the beloved game show.
