Philadelphia’s 105th Annual 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade Set to Kick Off Holiday Season Despite Rainy Forecast
The 105th annual 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade is set to take place on Thursday, November 28, marking the oldest and one of the most beloved Thanksgiving Day parades in the nation. Despite a forecast of soaking rain, the event promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring a variety of celebrity appearances and musical performances.
The parade will air live on 6abc and Hulu, beginning at 8:30 a.m. EST, and will also be available across 6abc’s digital and streaming platforms. It will be hosted by 6abc Action News’ Rick Williams, Cecily Tynan, Adam Joseph, Karen Rogers, and Alicia Vitarelli. Special guests include Lisa Ann Walter from ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” Carson Kressley from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and “Dancing with the Stars,” and Sam Champion, a contributing weather correspondent for “Good Morning America”.
Musical performances will feature The Sugarhill Gang, Kathy Sledge, Matteo Bocelli, the Sharpe Family Singers, Darlene Love, and the former Ladies of Chic. Additionally, crowd favorites Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will make appearances, and Santa Claus will close out the parade to mark the official start of the Christmas season.
The Bridgewater College Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band, including two Luray natives, has been selected to participate in the parade, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The event is made possible by the support of title sponsor Dunkin’ and other major corporate sponsors such as ACME, RAM Trucks, NRG, Jefferson, and Pennie. The parade also includes a holiday food drive, where spectators are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate along the parade route.
