PHOENIX, Ariz. — A suspect is dead following a police shooting at an apartment complex in north Phoenix on March 6, 2025, shortly after 10 a.m. The incident involved officers from Glendale who were part of a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) task force conducting a narcotics investigation.

Investigators confirmed that one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while no officers or federal agents were harmed. Eyewitness video captured a significant police presence at The Place at Wickertree apartments, where officers collected evidence, including at the shooting site between two buildings.

Details regarding the sequence of events leading to the shooting remain sparse as authorities conduct their investigation. A spokesperson for the DEA stated, “DEA was conducting a narcotics investigation this morning near 23rd Avenue and Beardsley Road in Phoenix when shots were fired.” They assured the public that “the scene is secure and there is no danger to the public.”

This incident marks the seventh officer-involved shooting in Maricopa County and the 15th statewide in Arizona for 2025. The DEA continues to lead the investigation.
