Davon Brown Wilkinsburg Burglary

WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Police are searching for Davon Brown, a man accused of committing several burglaries in Wilkinsburg. Brown reportedly escaped from UPMC Shadyside Hospital while he was in police custody on Friday. He was being monitored after suffering a suspected drug overdose.

According to the Wilkinsburg Police Department, Brown allegedly committed multiple burglaries over a three-day period. He faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, and other theft-related offenses. He was arrested earlier on Friday, but his medical condition forced authorities to take him to the hospital instead of directly to the Allegheny County Jail.

Officers reported that after his arrival at the hospital, Brown managed to escape before the police could transfer him. “We were not notified of this until Saturday,” the department stated in a release. An officer had called the hospital to arrange for police transport but discovered that Brown was already gone.

Police have issued a description of Brown: he is approximately 6 feet tall, weighs around 230 pounds, and has a bald head. At the time of his escape, he was last seen wearing a colored shirt, black and white sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.

In addition to the charges in Wilkinsburg, Brown is also wanted for unrelated offenses in Wilkins Township and North Versailles. Local residents have expressed concern following his escape. “It’s a little worrying. I have to watch my back when I’m walking around,” said one neighbor.

Police urge anyone with information about Davon Brown’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.
