Powerball Lottery Winning Numbers September 2025

Florida, USA — The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.3 billion ahead of the drawing scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, 2025. This follows the Labor Day drawing on September 1, when no top prize was claimed, maintaining a growing cash value of $589 million.

As excitement builds, lottery officials reported that two players from Montana and North Carolina each won $2 million by matching five numbers with the Power Play option. Another lucky individual took home a $1 million prize for matching five numbers without the Power Play.

The winning numbers for the Labor Day drawing were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, with the Powerball number being 5 and the Power Play multiplier set at 3x. The next drawing will take place at 11 p.m. ET on September 3, marking the 41st drawing attempt since the jackpot was last won on May 31, 2025, in California.

To participate in the Powerball, players must purchase a ticket for $2 and select six numbers: five white balls numbered from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball numbered from 1 to 26. There’s also an option to add a Power Play for an additional $1, which could multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times.

Florida residents can buy tickets from authorized retailers, including convenience stores and gas stations. Online ticket purchases are not available in the state. Winners are required to claim their prizes within 180 days from the drawing date, and for a cash option, they must do so within 60 days.

It’s important to note that Florida law makes the winners’ information public record, specifying the name, city of residence, and amount won. However, experts indicate there are legal ways to maintain anonymity for large prize winners.

The excitement surrounding the Powerball jackpot is palpable, but players are reminded that the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The largest jackpot in Powerball history, which stood at $2.04 billion, was won on November 7, 2022. Players are encouraged to check their tickets carefully and play responsibly.
