President To Honor Best Electoral Practices On National Voters' Day

President Droupadi Murmu is set to present the National Voters’ Day (NVD) awards on the occasion of the 14th National Voters’ Day on January 25. The event, organized by the Election Commission of India (ECI), is dedicated to voters and will be celebrated under the theme ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For Sure’.

The President will honor the Best Electoral Practices Awards for the year 2023. The awards will recognize the outstanding performance of state and district level officers in different aspects of elections, including IT initiatives, security management, election management, accessible election, and electoral roll. The awards will also acknowledge the contribution of government departments and media organizations in voter awareness.

During the event, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar will present the first copy of the ECI Publication ‘ECI initiatives for General Elections 2024’ to the President. Additionally, a short voter awareness film titled ‘My Vote My Duty’ will be screened.

On this occasion, the Election Commission of India, which celebrates its 75th year of service to the nation, will release a commemorative postage stamp with the theme ‘Inclusive Elections.’ A multimedia campaign for Voter Education and Awareness for the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections 2024 will also be launched. A multimedia exhibition showcasing the grandeur of Indian elections, electoral reforms, technological advancements, and election management innovations will be on display.

The event will be attended by the heads and representatives of Election Management bodies from Maldives, Philippines, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan.
