Princess Kate 'doing Well' As Prince William Cancels Event Due To Personal Matter

Princess Kate is reportedly ‘doing well’ in her recovery phase from recent abdominal surgery, as her husband, Prince William, had to withdraw from an event due to a personal matter.

The unexpected change in Prince William’s schedule occurred as he was set to attend a memorial service for his godfather, King Constantine of Greece, who passed away in January 2023. While the reason for Prince William’s absence was not explicitly disclosed, a source from Kensington Palace shared that Princess Kate ‘continues to be doing well.’

The statement from the palace reassured the public about Princess Kate’s condition, especially after her surgery was announced on Jan. 17. The surgery was deemed successful, and Princess Kate was expected to spend a duration of two weeks in the hospital before continuing her recovery at home. The statement also indicated that Princess Kate was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

Prince William’s cancellation of the event follows his initial return to royal engagements on Feb. 7, which had been postponed due to Princess Kate’s health concerns. The event marked Prince William’s resumption of royal duties following the news of his father, Prince Charles‘, health situation that emerged on Feb. 5.

The memorial service for King Constantine, the last King of Greece, was attended by various royals including Queen Anne-Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, and members of the British royal family such as Princess Anne, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall.
