Rastriya Swatantra Party Protests Home Minister in Parliament

KATHMANDU, Nepal — Lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) gathered at the Parliament building today, donning blue ribbons to protest against Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. The demonstration comes amid allegations surrounding a visit visa scandal.
The blue ribbons represent a global fight against human trafficking, a cause the RSP openly supports. “The blue ribbon globally symbolizes the campaign against human trafficking,” stated RSP lawmaker Manish Jha during the protest.
Despite the RSP’s efforts, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire continued with parliamentary proceedings over the weekend, indicating that today’s session would proceed as planned. However, the session, expected to start at 1 p.m., has been delayed while discussions involving the Speaker are ongoing.
The RSP has emphasized that their protest is not only about accountability but also a stand against human trafficking, using today’s display to raise awareness on the issue. As lawmakers await the resumption of parliamentary activities, the focus remains on the ongoing scandal and its implications for the home ministry.
