Redhill School Achieves Record Matric Results With Ieb And Ib Programs

In a significant milestone, Redhill School celebrates its best-ever Matric results, achieving outstanding success in both the Independent Examination Board (IEB) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. This accomplishment places Redhill as the only school in the country to offer students the choice between these two qualifications.

The Class of 2023 has showcased remarkable achievements, with a 100% university entrance rate (Bachelor’s Degree Pass) and an impressive average of four distinctions per student, totaling 292 distinctions overall. Various grade categories demonstrate exceptional results, including seven students with a 90% average or above, 39 students with an 80% average or above, 62 students with a 70% average or above, and 71 students with a 60% average or above. Moreover, 21% of students obtained a full house of distinctions, 64% achieved an A average, and 86% received a B average or above. It is noteworthy that 93% of students attained one or more distinctions.

Joseph Gerassi, the Executive Head, commended the dedication and commitment of the students, educators, and parents in achieving these outstanding results. He emphasized that Redhill School’s innovative and holistic education fosters academic excellence and the development of well-rounded individuals prepared to make a global impact.

The coveted title of Redhill DUX Scholar for 2023 was awarded to Samuel Hertz, who achieved an exceptional 96% average with an astounding 11 distinctions, including 10 distinctions at 90% or higher. Samuel also ranked among the Top 1% of candidates in seven subjects, such as Accounting, Dramatic Arts, English, Physical Sciences, and Further Studies English. This achievement exemplifies the school’s commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential.

In addition to the IEB success, Redhill School surpassed global standards in the IB program. While the world average for the IB Diploma Programme is 29.06 out of 45 points, Redhill obtained an outstanding average of 36.2, exceeding the global average by an impressive 7.14 points. Notably, four students obtained exceptional scores of either 42 or 41 points out of a potential 45 points, including Joshua Brooking and Serena Girard-Nguetsop.

Joseph Gerassi expressed his pride in the students, highlighting that the IB results demonstrate their academic prowess, adaptability, and resilience. He emphasized Redhill School’s commitment to preparing students for success in an ever-evolving global landscape. Achieving scores in the 40-42 range in the IB Diploma Programme is a remarkable accomplishment that can open doors to prestigious universities and scholarship opportunities.
