Salt Lake City Appoints Jill Remington Love as New Chief Administrative Officer
Salt Lake City Mayor Mendenhall has recently announced the selection of Jill Remington Love as the City’s incoming Chief Administrative Officer, pending approval from the City Council on March 5th.
Jill Remington Love, a familiar face within Salt Lake City’s political landscape, has a wealth of experience having served as the District 5 representative on the City Council for three terms, in addition to multiple tenures as Council Chair from 2001 to 2013. She also held the position of Community and Economic Development Director during Mayor Becker’s administration.
Following her tenure at the city level, Remington Love continued her public service at the State of Utah under Governors Herbert and Cox as the Executive Director of the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement. In this role, she oversaw various state entities including the State Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office, Arts and Museums, STEM Action Center, Multi-Cultural Affairs, UServe Utah, Indian Affairs, and the Pete Suazo Athletic Commission.
During her time as Executive Director, Remington Love spearheaded the integration of new and diverse programs under the department’s umbrella, aiming to redefine its strategic direction and enhance community outreach efforts.
Expressing her enthusiasm for returning to familiar grounds, Jill Remington Love voiced her excitement at the opportunity to contribute to Salt Lake City’s current initiatives and future plans under Mayor Mendenhall’s leadership.
