Sanwo-Olu and Ambode Discuss Lagos Future
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu welcomed his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode, back to the Lagos House for a friendly visit.
In his post on social media, Sanwo-Olu shared that their conversation revolved around the future of Lagos and how to build on the solid foundation that’s already been laid.
Sanwo-Olu expressed that he values Ambode’s insights as they all aim to keep Lagos on track for growth and development.
Akinwunmi Ambode served as governor from 2015 until he lost his reelection bid in 2019 to Sanwo-Olu.
The two had a rough patch during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, but things took a turn for the better in 2023.
They first publicly reunited at a reception for President Bola Tinubu, marking a significant moment as it was their first time together in over four years.
This meeting also included another former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola, highlighting the effort to mend old ties among the state’s political leaders.
