Seattle Forecast: Warmer Weather Ahead After Rainy Weekend

SEATTLE, Wash. – After a chilly and rainy Saturday, the greater Seattle area can expect warmer and drier conditions to begin the week. Sunday is forecasted to be mostly cloudy, but some afternoon sunbreaks are likely. High temperatures will reach near 70 degrees.
In Western Washington, temperatures will also rise, with mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. Monday and Tuesday will follow suit, bringing morning clouds and afternoon sunshine, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Soccer fans heading to the Seattle Sounders‘ final group stage match against PSG on Monday will enjoy pleasant weather, with temperatures in the upper 60s by kickoff in the afternoon.
The middle of the week could see a few quick showers, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, but overall conditions will remain more dry than wet. The forecast indicates a comfortable week ahead for the Puget Sound area.
Further south in Portland, a significant amount of rainfall was recorded over the weekend, with more than an inch and a half measured at the airport. This surpassed a 1943 daily record of 0.44 inches for the same date. Portland also experienced a drop in temperature, reaching highs only in the 50s on Saturday, setting a record for the coolest maximum temperature for June 21.
As the low pressure system weakens and shifts east, Sunday will offer a drier and warmer day, with highs expected to climb into the 70s. Temperatures will rise further early in the week, hitting the low to mid-80s by Monday and Tuesday. Despite a slight cooldown later in the week with highs in the 70s and increased cloud cover, next weekend is anticipated to bring even warmer temperatures.
