Senator Lindsey Graham Criticizes Republicans, Urges Support for Trump and Supreme Court Shift
South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham fiercely criticized fellow party members supporting Vice President Kamala Harris‘ presidential campaign, questioning their political choices. During an appearance on NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” Graham stated, “You’re supporting the most radical nominee in the history of American politics.” He aimed his remarks directly at Republicans, including former GOP Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, as well as several ex-Trump administration officials who have endorsed Harris in recent weeks.
Graham continued to voice his discontent, attributing policies under the Biden-Harris administration to national issues, saying, “The danger to this country is the policies of Biden and Harris. Her fingerprints are all over this disaster. And I can’t take four more years of this crap.” These statements were made during a conversation with moderator Kristen Welker, who queried him about former President Donald Trump’s intensifying rhetoric.
Trump, while speaking at a rally in Coachella, California, labeled Representative Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California, as “the enemy from within.” Further affirming this stance, Trump repeated this phrase in a pre-recorded Fox News interview, applying it broadly to what he described as “radical-left lunatics.” Graham largely dismissed the controversies surrounding Trump’s remarks, asserting, “We’re winning, and going to win, not because of what Donald Trump’s saying, but because of what they’ve done for four years.”
Graham underscored the urgency of policy changes in the upcoming election, tying Harris to the present administration’s policies. He reflected on Harris’ previous comments on “The View” where, when asked what she might have done differently than President Biden, she responded, “there is not a thing that comes to mind.”
Additionally, Graham addressed Republican fundraising efforts during an appearance on “Hannity,” urging viewers to donate in an attempt to flip the Supreme Court toward conservatism. He emphasized the importance of gaining more than a mere majority in the Senate to facilitate President Trump’s agenda, saying, “The United States Senate needs to have enough Republicans to help this president enact his agenda. I don’t want 51, I want more.”
Graham directed focus on raising funds for key states, specifically Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan, where Republican candidates are not matching Democratic fundraising efforts. He stated, “Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan, our candidates are being out-raised three-to-one.” He encouraged people to contribute through his website, saying that contributions would be split among these states.
Concluding his appeal, Graham revealed his personal contribution to the cause, mentioning, “I’m giving $600 tonight to lindseygraham.com, that money will be divided between three states, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, where we’re ahead in two of the three. If we can get to 53 or 54 senators, it changes the future of the Supreme Court, the judiciary, and it makes Trump’s presidency far more successful.”
