Los Angeles, CA — Amazon MGM Studios announced on October 15, 2025, that a sequel to the hit romantic comedy ‘Red, White & Royal Blue‘ is officially in the works, titled ‘Red, White & Royal Wedding.’ The film will reunite Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez, who are returning to their roles as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz.

Director Jamie Babbit, known for her work on ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ is set to direct the sequel. The screenplay is penned by Gemma Burgess, Matthew López, and Casey McQuiston, author of the original book.

Julie Rapaport, head of film at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement about continuing the story of Alex and Henry. “After seeing the incredible outpouring of love for ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ from fans around the world, it’s clear Alex and Henry’s story truly resonated,” she said.

Producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter emphasized their gratitude to McQuiston for trusting them with the story in the first film. They stated, “We are fans too and can’t wait to see Nick and Taylor as Henry and Alex together again.”

Matthew López, the co-writer of the first film, shared his enthusiasm for the sequel. “It’s been a blast to dream up the next chapter of their story as a producer and co-writer and I’m delighted to be passing the directing baton to Jamie,” he said.

Casey McQuiston added, “I’m so grateful to Matthew for all his hard work on the first movie and in co-creating this new story with me, and I know that Jamie has the vision, wit, and tenderness to take great care of Alex and Henry from here.”

The first film was well-received, boasting a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans are eager for the sequel, although details of the plot remain under wraps. Babbit, expressing her joy about returning to the queer love narrative, stated, “We all need this kind of optimism, fantasy, and gay joy.”

The sequel has not yet announced its release format, whether streaming or theatrical. Fans eagerly await more details about the upcoming love story.
