Johannesburg – Sifiso Mkhwanazi has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of six sex workers, whom he strangled to death in the central district of Johannesburg. The sentencing was delivered by Judge Cassim Moosa at the Palm Ridge Magistrate Court. Judge Moosa described Mkhwanazi as dangerous, stating that he may only petition the court for consideration after 30 years of imprisonment.

The gravity of the crimes included convictions on six counts each of rape and murder. In addition, Mkhwanazi was found guilty of defeating the ends of justice, theft of a cellphone, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
