GARCÍA, Nuevo León — A small plane crashed Saturday evening in the Interpuerto of the Ciudad Mitras industrial park, resulting in the deaths of two people.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. when the aircraft went down near the Paraje San José neighborhood, local officials reported. Emergency responders from Protección Civil Nuevo León hurried to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the plane inside the industrial park with two occupants who had already lost vital signs. Immediate notification was made to the Fiscalía General de Justicia de Nuevo León for further investigation.

García Mayor Manuel Guerra Cavazos confirmed the fatalities, identifying the victims as a male and a female. He visited the crash site and shared the details via social media, stating, “I regret to inform you that I am on site. It is confirmed that a small aircraft has crashed with two deceased individuals.”

Authorities are currently waiting for forensic teams to recover the bodies. Guerra added that the investigation will include collecting flight logs to provide more information about the victims and ensure all necessary flight permits were in order.

As of now, no identities have been released, and information regarding the plane’s activities or intended destination remains unclear.

This incident follows another plane crash on August 29 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, which left one dead and one injured, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding aviation safety in the region.
