SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — A 19-year-old Springfield man was fatally shot last week near the 100 block of Oakland Street, the Hampden District Attorneyu2019s Office confirmed Tuesday. Semaj Brewster was found with a gunshot wound around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 12 and was later pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni identified Brewster as the victim in a statement released Tuesday morning. u201cSemaj Brewster was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries,u201d Gulluni said. The incident remains under investigation, and no arrests have been announced.

Authorities have not released details about potential suspects or a motive for the shooting.
