Steelers Vs Colts 2024 Game

This Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers, led by quarterback Justin Fields, are scheduled to face the Indianapolis Colts, with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson at the helm. The matchup is part of the NFL’s Week 4 games and will be held at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, kicking off at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on CBS and streamed live on various platforms.

Currently, the Steelers boast an impressive unbeaten record of 3-0, positioning them as road favorites against the Colts, who stand at 1-2 for the season. The Steelers have been particularly strong defensively, leading the league in several categories including overall yards allowed, rush defense, pass defense, and scoring defense.

Matt Ehalt, a digital sports editor, noted that last week the Steelers managed a 20-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, while the Colts barely edged out the Chicago Bears with a 21-16 win. Despite the Colts’ victory, Ehalt expressed skepticism about the team’s performance, particularly critiquing Richardson for his recent interception-riddled outings.

On the other side, Fields, who previously played for the Chicago Bears, appears to be finding his stride in Pittsburgh. Last week, he threw for 245 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for an additional score. Analysts suggest this could be a pivotal game for Fields as he seeks to further establish himself as a reliable starter for the Steelers.

According to BetMGM, the Steelers are favored by two points. Historically, the Colts hold a slight edge in the series, leading 24-19 overall, though the last encounter saw Indianapolis securing a decisive 30-13 victory in December 2023.

The Colts are facing challenges with injuries. Notably, starting cornerback JuJu Brents and offensive starters could be out, and the team will be monitoring the statuses of key players like Pro Bowl cornerback Kenny Moore II and defensive end Kwity Paye, who are both dealing with injuries.

For the Steelers, linebacker Alex Highsmith is out with a groin injury, and Nick Herbig will fill in after impressing against the Chargers. Additionally, significant attention is on fields and how he might connect more effectively with receivers besides George Pickens.

The Steelers’ effective running defense will likely focus on limiting Jonathan Taylor, given his impressive back-to-back 100-yard games. Taylor is instrumental to the Colts’ offense, especially in a matchup where Richardson’s passing game has shown inconsistency.
