Stock Exchanges Bse And Nse To Remain Closed On Republic Day

Stock exchanges BSE and NSE will remain closed on Friday, January 26, in observance of the 75th Republic Day. This day marks the adoption of India’s constitution and the country’s transition to a Republic on January 26, 1950.

The BSE and NSE will resume trading on Monday, January 29, after the public holiday. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also remain closed for both morning and evening sessions on Republic Day.

Other upcoming holidays for the stock exchanges include Mahashivratri on March 8, Holi on March 25, and Good Friday on March 29.

After that, there will be a series of holidays including Id-Ul-Fitr, Ram Navami, Maharashtra Day, Bakri Id, Muharram, Independence Day, Parsi New Year, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali Laxmi Pujan, Gurunanak Jayanti, and Christmas, among others.

Additionally, several holidays such as Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Shri Mahavir Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, and Diwali-Balipratipada will fall on weekends in 2024.
