South Florida Weather Forecast

MIAMI, Florida — This weekend is expected to bring a mix of sun and clouds to South Florida, along with a chance of showers and storms. On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will reach the 90s during the day and drop to the 70s at night.

On Saturday, there’s a 30% chance of showers and storms, primarily during the daytime. Northeast winds will create a pleasant beach breeze, potentially leading to scattered showers off the Atlantic. Storm activity is predicted to be more prominent inland and along the western coast.

The Miami-Florida football game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. on ABC. While there is a chance of isolated storms during tailgating, rain is expected to decrease as the game progresses, with temps remaining warm and humid in the 80s.

For Sunday, a slight uptick in moisture will result in increased rain chances. Highs are again slated to be around 90 degrees, with the best storm prospects remaining inland and to the west.

Looking to next week, moisture levels across Florida are anticipated to rise, bringing higher chances of showers and storms. Gabrielle is currently the only storm in the Atlantic Basin and is expected to develop into a hurricane next week, moving out to sea without posing a threat to Florida.

Meanwhile, in Lincoln, Nebraska, predictions indicate a similar pattern with a maximum rain chance of about 30% on Saturday morning, subsiding later in the day. Temperatures are forecasted to hover in the low to mid-70s.

On Saturday night, Texas will host the Sam Houston State Bearkats, with temperatures expected to remain high due to a ridge of high pressure. By kickoff at 7 p.m., temperatures should be near 90 degrees with light winds.

The situation remains fluid, and both regions are urged to stay updated on weather conditions.
