Born on September 11, 1976, Manoj made his acting debut in his father’s 1999 film Taj Mahal, a project notable for its musical score by A.R. Rahman. Despite the film’s poor box office performance, Manoj left a lasting impression on Tamil audiences.

His directorial venture, the romantic drama Margazhi Thingal, marked a new chapter in his career, showcasing his ambition to craft narratives similar to his father’s legacy. His most recent appearance was in the 2024 Prime Video series, Snakes and Ladders.

Manoj is survived by his wife, actress Nandana, and their two daughters, Arshitha and Mathivadhani. His sudden passing has reverberated throughout the Tamil film industry, sparking an outpouring of grief from colleagues and fans alike.
