Taylor Swift Travis Kelce Engagement Song

London, England — Taylor Swift revealed that her fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, has a favorite song from her new album during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. The album, titled The Life Of A Showgirl, was released just hours before the show was filmed on Thursday.

Swift shared that the song “Opalite,” dedicated to Kelce, symbolizes his birthstone, marking a special connection following their engagement this year. She addressed host Graham Norton, saying, “My dad is very excited about ‘Opalite’, and it is Travis’s favorite.”

The 14-time Grammy winner elaborated on the song’s deeper meaning, explaining, “Growing opals in a lab is an interesting metaphor for making your own happiness; to rise above the trials and tribulations and be happy you did things on your terms.” The lyrical content reflects Swift’s past experiences in love, mentioning she “had a bad habit of missing lovers past” before transitioning to the chorus.

During the show, Swift also discussed the engagement, indicating she intends to focus on album promotions before planning their wedding. “He really crushed it in surprising me,” she told Norton, recounting how Kelce constructed a garden at his home specifically for the proposal.

On the night of the show, Swift dazzled in a black dress adorned with a jewel-encrusted halter neck, flaunting her engagement ring, which is reportedly an Old Mine Brilliant Cut. Among the other guests were actors Cillian Murphy and Jodie Turner-Smith, as well as singer Lewis Capaldi.

Swift’s The Life Of A Showgirl features 12 tracks and includes a collaboration with fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter. The album is expected to perform well worldwide in music charts.

Swift previously announced her engagement to Kelce, 35, on Instagram in August, humorously captioning the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The Graham Norton Show is set to air on Friday at 10:40 p.m. on BBC One.
