Three Dead in Tragic Collision on Autoroute 30 in Bécancour

Three men in their fifties and sixties have tragically lost their lives in a major collision on Autoroute 30 in the Bécancour region. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM on Monday and involved multiple vehicles, including a car, a van, two 10-wheeler trucks, and a 53-foot trailer. According to the Sûreté du Québec, the trucks were carrying rock and grain, both of which caught fire after the collision. The area where the accident occurred only has one lane in each direction.

Bénédicte Lebel, a journalist, reports that there was also a diesel spill during the incident, which required the intervention of the Ministry of the Environment. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of this tragic collision in an industrial area experiencing a battery-related boom.
