Timothy Sheehy U.s. Senator Montana Swearing In Ceremony

BELGRADE, Mont. — Timothy P. Sheehy, founder of Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc., was sworn in as the U.S. Senator for Montana on January 8, 2025. Sheehy, a former Naval SEAL Officer and Bronze Star recipient, transitioned from leading one of the nation’s largest aerial firefighting companies to representing Montana in Washington, D.C.

Sheehy’s career has been marked by service and leadership. After his military service, he founded Bridger Aerospace in 2014, growing it from a single-plane operation to a publicly traded company with over 160 employees. Bridger Aerospace now operates the world’s largest private Super Scooper fleet, crucial in combating wildfires across the U.S.

Jeff Kelter, Executive Chairman of Bridger Aerospace, praised Sheehy’s dedication. “We are extremely proud of the leadership and sacrifices that Tim has made for the country,” Kelter said. “We are confident Tim will continue his legacy of success in the U.S. Senate.”

Sheehy will serve on several key Senate committees, including Veterans’ Affairs, Armed Services, and Commerce, Science, and Transportation. His appointment is seen as a continuation of his commitment to public service and his ability to address critical issues facing Montana and the nation.

Bridger Aerospace, based in Belgrade, Montana, provides aerial firefighting and wildfire management services to federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service. The company’s growth under Sheehy’s leadership has been instrumental in protecting lives, property, and environmental habitats threatened by wildfires.
