Tom Cruise Hurricane Milton Florida

Actor Tom Cruise was spotted looking tense at Battersea Heliport on Thursday as Hurricane Milton approached Florida, threatening his luxury penthouse in Clearwater. The actor, currently filming “Mission Impossible 8,” has an anxious wait to see if his residence has sustained damage from the storm.

Hurricane Milton unleashed catastrophic conditions on Florida, with winds reaching 160 mph and causing severe flooding. The tempest, now classified as a Category 5 storm, prompted widespread evacuations and left at least two people dead, while power outages affected over two million residents.

“This is it, folks,” warned Cathie Perkins, Emergency Management Director, during a news conference. “Those of you who were hit during Hurricane Helene, this is going to be a knockout. You need to get out and you need to get out now.”

Cruise, who moved to Clearwater in 2016, shares his abode with his son Connor, adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. The high-end residence features a private rooftop lap pool, a flight simulator room, and a garage equipped to hold up to nine vehicles. It is located near the Church of Scientology‘s international headquarters, reportedly a factor in Cruise’s choice of location.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued emergency orders across 51 counties. “We’re going to have impacts far beyond wherever the eye of the storm is,” he stated, emphasizing the urgency of evacuation plans in affected areas. “Now is the time to execute your plan, but that time is running out.”

The National Weather Service describes Milton as potentially “a historic storm for the west coast of Florida,” and possibly the worst to impact the area in over a century. Tampa officials have stressed the severity, with Mayor Jane Castor noting, “If you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you’re gonna die.”
