Tracker Returns: What to Expect in Season 3

LOS ANGELES, CA — CBS‘s hit survival drama Tracker is set to return for its highly anticipated third season on Sunday, October 19, following a five-month hiatus. The show stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who solves missing person cases while confronting personal family mysteries.
The upcoming season kicks off with a two-part premiere titled “The Process.” Colter grapples with shocking revelations surrounding his father’s death. His brother, Russell Shaw, played by Jensen Ackles, joins him to track down a client’s missing wife and daughter, leading them into the dark workings of an underground operation known as ‘The Process.’
“As Colter deals with the truth of his father’s past, the reunion with Russell will unveil more than just family secrets,” said showrunner Elwood Reid. “Their dynamic will be crucial as they face new challenges together.”
Notably, the new season will feature 22 episodes, the longest yet for Tracker. Viewers have expressed excitement over the deepening character arcs, especially Colter’s emotional journey as he processes his father’s death and the complicated family history.
Despite a new direction, the show continues to focus on Colter’s role as a lone wolf investigator. However, Reid hinted at a possible shift toward a more integrated team dynamic with characters like Reenie, who is set to play a more significant role in Colter’s story.
“We’ll see Colter’s relationships expand, especially with Reenie, which will add layers to the narratives as they work together to uncover the truth about their cases,” Reid mentioned. Each episode will connect personal stakes with cases of the week.
In the aftermath of Season 2’s cliffhanger, fans are eager to watch how Colter confronts the fallout from his past and his evolving relationship with Russell. As the series returns, it will balance thrilling plots with deeper emotional stakes, promising to keep audiences engaged.
Catch the Season 3 premiere of Tracker on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET on October 19.
