Tragedy Strikes in Lonavala as Family Drowns in Bhushi Dam, One Missing
In a tragic incident in the Bhushi Dam area of Lonavala, Maharashtra, a family of five individuals from Sayyad Nagar in Pune met with a horrifying fate. While enjoying the monsoon season near a waterfall, a woman and four children slipped into the turbulent waters of the dam, leading to a devastating outcome.
The bodies of all five individuals have been recovered after rigorous efforts by rescue teams. Senior Police Inspector Suhas Jagtap from the Rural Police Department in Pune confirmed that search and rescue operations have been halted.
All five victims belonged to the same family residing in Sayyad Nagar, Pune, highlighting the heartbreaking nature of the incident.
The Main Secretary of the state will be in touch with district authorities at all locations to prevent such tragedies from occurring in restricted areas where visitors pose a danger to themselves and their families. Lonely places like the Bhushi Dam area, Tungarli Dam, Gubad Lake, and more should be approached with caution during the rainy season.
