A harrowing incident has gripped the town of Forbes, New South Wales, as the community mourns the tragic death of Molly Ticehurst, a beloved childcare worker.

Ticehurst, 28, was found lifeless in her home, sparking shock and sadness among residents.

Her former partner, Daniel Billings, 29, from Dalby, Queensland, stands accused of her murder and had a troubling history with the victim.

In a disturbing revelation, it surfaced that Billings was out on bail for several violent charges against Ticehurst, including rape, stalking, and intimidation.

The Orange Local Court heard chilling details of the previous allegations against Billings, painting a picture of a pattern of abuse and cruelty towards Ticehurst.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed deep concern over the alarming rates of violence against women, labeling it an unacceptable societal issue that requires immediate attention.

NSW Premier Chris Minns vowed to investigate the circumstances surrounding Billings’ bail and the efficacy of apprehended violence orders in protecting victims.

The Red Heart Campaign highlighted Ticehurst’s death as the 31st violent fatality of a woman or child in Australia this year, underscoring the urgent need for action.

The Public Service Association of NSW, represented by Stewart Little, criticized the justice system for failing to adequately safeguard women from violence, placing added strain on law enforcement and correctional officers.

Detective Jason Darcy revealed that Billings and Ticehurst had been in a relationship, making the brutal nature of the crime even more devastating for the victim’s family.

As the case unfolds, the community grapples with grief, while support services like Lifeline continue to offer crucial assistance to those in need.
