Donald Trump Taylor Swift Controversy 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump sparked controversy on Friday by claiming pop star Taylor Swift is no longer ‘hot’ since he publicly expressed his dislike for her.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump issued the provocative statement, ‘Has anyone noticed that, since I said “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” she’s no longer “HOT?”’ The comments come during a tumultuous political climate, especially following Swift’s vocal support for Democratic candidates.

Swift, whose net worth is estimated at $1.6 billion according to Forbes, recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election after Harris’ debate performance against Trump. In her support for Harris, Swift wrote on Instagram that she believes Harris ‘fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.’

In response to Trump’s comments, Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, expressed their outrage, pointing out the singer’s previous work and accomplishments. They criticized Trump’s remarks as petty and disconnected from the artist’s impact.

The clash between the two has escalated since 2020 when Swift first spoke out against Trump, accusing his presidency of fostering an environment of racism and white supremacy. Trump’s comments appear to reflect a personal grudge, especially after Swift’s political engagement intensified in recent years.

In a previous interview, Trump admitted to finding Swift attractive, but that sentiment seems to have changed dramatically after she endorsed Democratic candidates. He remarked, ‘I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful!’ during a conversation about her political stance.

In the lead-up to his recent comments, Trump had made headlines for posting AI-generated images that falsely suggested Swift endorsing him. After Swift clarified her position publicly, Trump retaliated with his declaration of hatred for the artist, further igniting the feud.

Following Trump’s Truth Social post, various public figures criticized him, including former Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who referenced Swift’s song in her response. With each comment, the divide between Trump and Swift’s supporters widens as the 2024 election approaches.

The situation underscores the intertwining of celebrity and politics, as both figures navigate their influence in the public realm.
