Trump Lawyer Accuses Ny Attorney General Of Courtroom Misconduct Amid Civil Fraud Trial

During the civil fraud trial of former President Donald Trump, his attorney Christopher Kise launched a scathing attack on New York Attorney General Letitia James. Kise alleged that James exhibited unprofessional behavior by removing her shoes in court.

The trial, overseen by Judge Arthur Engoron, concluded with Trump being found guilty of inflating his assets to secure more favorable business loans. Subsequently, Engoron placed stringent penalties on Trump, including hefty fines and a ban on serving as a director of any New York corporation for three years.

Kise condemned the court’s decision, labeling it as draconian and unconstitutional. He asserted that the entire legal process was unfair, particularly for Trump, his family, and their business empire.

Furthermore, Kise criticized James for her alleged misconduct, claiming that she was seen without her shoes during court proceedings, holding a coffee instead of actively participating in the trial.

Amid the controversy, Ivanka Trump, initially a defendant in the case, had charges dropped in June 2023 due to a statute of limitations. However, Engoron still admonished her for failing to recall key details during the trial.

James welcomed the court’s ruling, emphasizing the principle of equal treatment under the law. The fines imposed on Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, along with their business restrictions, underscore the gravity of the fraud case.
