Trump and Melania Celebrate Easter at White House Egg Roll Event

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn on April 21, 2025, celebrating the cherished tradition with families and children from across the nation.
Speaking from the Blue Room balcony, Trump emphasized the significance of the event, declaring, “We’re bringing religion back in America. We’re bringing a lot of things back, but religion is coming back to America.” The occasion was further marked by the news of Pope Francis’s death earlier that day. Describing the late Pope, Trump stated, “He was a good man, worked hard, he loved the world.”
This year, Melania Trump brought a contemporary flair to her Easter outfit, donning an off-white double-breasted trench coat from Mackage and gray patent leather pumps from Roger Vivier. In previous years, she had opted for more vibrant attire, including a pale pink dress in 2017 and a blue cashmere jacket in 2018.
Attendees dressed in various shades of pastel, including Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Bettina Anderson, who wore a pale yellow coatdress, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who sported a blue lace midi dress. Meanwhile, President Trump maintained his MAGA-red tie.
Melania was notably engaged throughout the festivities, assisting her husband in launching the egg roll competition by blowing a whistle together. She also read a children’s book titled ‘Bunny with a Big Heart’ to a gathering of kids.
“A very happy Easter to everyone,” the President greeted attendees. “It was a beautiful day yesterday, and it’s a beautiful day today. We don’t have to worry about sunburn, but it looks like it’s not going to be raining.”
The Easter Egg Roll featured a variety of activities, including flower arranging, egg decorating, and live performances by children’s singer Go with YoYo, and bands from the U.S. Armed Forces.
Also present were Donald Trump Jr. and his five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. Melania had confirmed her attendance earlier in the week, expressing gratitude to the East Wing staff for their efforts in organizing the event.
“This cherished tradition, rooted in history since 1878, brings joy, storytelling, and laughter to America’s children,” she remarked, indicating her excitement for the day.
