PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — Two women were shot on Friday during the Philadelphia EaglesSuper Bowl LIX victory parade, which drew large crowds celebrating the team’s historic win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The incident occurred along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as festivities took place.

Authorities reported that a 27-year-old woman was shot in her left leg and a 20-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to her upper left thigh. Both were treated at a medical tent located at 23rd and Spring Garden streets and are currently in stable condition, according to a police release.

Witnesses noted that the shots went largely unnoticed by the surrounding celebration, and no arrests have been made thus far. Police are continuing to investigate the incident but did not recover any weapons from the scene.

The shooting comes as Philadelphia was filled with excitement and fervor, with fans dressed in Eagles gear flocking to the city in recognition of the team’s triumph. The parade began around 11 a.m. and featured speeches from players, coaches, and dignitaries, drawing an estimated one million attendees.
