UFC Returns to Vancouver with Exciting Matchups on Sat.

VANCOUVER, BC — The UFC heads back to Vancouver this weekend for UFC Fight Night: De Ridder vs. Allen at Rogers Arena. The event features a captivating middleweight main event between Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen, and promises to be filled with action as seven of the 13 bouts include Canadian fighters.
Reinier de Ridder, undefeated in his UFC career, arrives with a 4-0 record and his last victory against former champion Robert Whittaker. Meanwhile, Brendan Allen steps in on short notice after Anthony Hernandez pulled out due to injury. Allen aims to rebound from his previous loss and position himself in title contention.
“It still means something beating him,” De Ridder said of Allen. “If I’m the first guy to finish him, that means something.”
The event also includes other intriguing matchups such as Mike Malott vs. Kevin Holland and Marlon Vera vs. Aiemann Zahabi, both of which showcase top-level fighters eager to climb the rankings.
Mike Malott seeks to extend his winning streak to three as he faces Kevin Holland, who is looking to recover after a loss to Daniel Rodriguez. Malott has been a crowd favorite and enjoyed success in front of his home audience.
In another spotlight fight, Marlon “Chito” Vera attempts to reset his career against Aiemann Zahabi, who is on a six-fight win streak. Vera, coming off two consecutive defeats, needs a victory to avoid further setbacks.
Jasmine Jasudavicius will also feature in a top-five flyweight matchup against Manon Fiorot, adding to the event’s significance as both look to position themselves for potential title shots in the near future.
The prelims feature various promising prospects, including Charles Jourdain vs. Davey Grant and Bruno Silva vs. HyunSung Park, with a total of seven Canadians competing on this exciting card. The energy in Vancouver is expected to be electric as the fights get underway.
