Ugc Net Exam Cancelled Due To Malpractice Suspicions; Cbi To Investigate

The UGC NET June 2024 examination has been cancelled by the Ministry of Education following suspicions of malpractice during the conduct of the exam.

The decision to cancel the exam was made to ensure transparency and integrity in the examination process. It was conducted in two shifts just a day prior.

A new examination will be scheduled, with details to be shared separately. The case will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.

Inputs received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs revealed irregularities in the examination, raising possibilities of paper leak.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which also conducted NEET 2024, organized the UGC NET June 2024 exam in various cities across the country in two shifts on June 18, 2024, but it has now been cancelled.

The Ministry of Education has taken the integrity of the examination process very seriously and is committed to ensuring the highest level of transparency and fairness. CBI has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

It has been alleged that the outsourcing arrangement of conducting these exams by NTA through various agencies without any direct involvement or expertise may have led to such irregularities.

Supreme Court‘s recent ruling has determined that students who received grace marks will have to retake the NEET exam. NTA had provided the number of such students to the court for action.

The government stated that it is dedicated to ensuring the integrity of examinations and protecting the interests of students. Strict actions will be taken against any individual or organization involved in the matter.
