A24 Bring Her Back Horror Film Teaser Trailer

LOS ANGELES, CA — A24 has released the first teaser for its upcoming horror film “Bring Her Back,” directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, the filmmakers behind the indie sensation “Talk to Me.” The new film, which is set to hit theaters on May 30, follows a brother and sister who discover a disturbing ritual in their foster mother’s home.

The teaser, released on February 19, offers glimpses of chilling footage while maintaining an air of mystery about the narrative. Striking imagery includes found-footage from an early digital camera and a haunting bird’s-eye view of a prayer circle, alongside scenes of actress Sally Hawkins with a bloodied hand pressed against a window.

“Bring Her Back” features a strong cast including Sally Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, and Jonah Wren Phillips. The film is produced by Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton from Causeway Films. Additionally, Danny Philippou co-wrote the script with Bill Hinzman.

The Philippou brothers, known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka, returned to their native Australia to film this latest project. Their previous feature, “Talk to Me,” premiered at the 2022 Adelaide Festival and gained international acclaim during its showing at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where A24 acquired it for a high seven-figure deal. The film went on to gross approximately $92 million worldwide, making it one of A24’s most profitable releases to date.

After its critical success at the Sundance Film Festival, “Talk to Me” garnered numerous awards, including best picture, best director, and best actress at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards.

A24 has positioned “Bring Her Back” as a strong follow-up to the Philippou brothers’ previous work, with the film expected to delve into gripping themes of horror and suspense. The anticipation for its release is palpable, as the teaser hints at a richly woven narrative involving sacrifice and dark family secrets.

Fans of the genre are encouraged to watch the teaser and prepare for a new chapter in horror from the creative minds who captivated audiences with “Talk to Me.” A24 has not only tapped into the brothers’ talent but is also developing a sequel to “Talk to Me” alongside “Bring Her Back,” ensuring their distinctive storytelling continues to resonate with horror aficionados.
