Uttarakhand Assembly By-Election 2024 Results Declared: Congress Secures Victory in Both Mangalore and Badrinath Seats
The results of the Uttarakhand Assembly by-election 2024 have been announced, with Congress emerging victorious in both the Mangalore and Badrinath seats. Mangalore seat was left vacant after the demise of a BSP legislator, and Badrinath seat saw a former Congress MLA who had joined BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Following an intense campaign period, the people celebrated the win by the Congress party in both seats. Amidst recount demands in Mangalore, the electoral officer confirmed the completion of counting in Mangalore.
In the 15th round of counting for Badrinath seat, the Congress candidate Lakhpatt Butola secured 27696 votes, surpassing BJP’s Rajendra Bhandari who received 22601 votes.
As the 14th round’s results were declared for Badrinath seat, the Congress candidate extended the lead with 2232 votes compared to BJP’s 1355 votes. The NOTA option received 54 votes, summing up to a total of 3788 votes.
Continuing the updates, in the 13th round, the Congress candidate Lakhpatt Butola secured 1850 votes for Badrinath seat while the BJP candidate Rajendra Bhandari got 1296 votes.
As the 12th round results were declared for Badrinath seat, Lakhpatt Butola from Congress led with 1615 votes followed by Rajendra Bhandari of BJP with 1380 votes, along with 51 votes for NOTA, totaling to 3390 votes.
After 10 rounds of counting in Badrinath, Lakhpatt Butola from Congress was leading with 1460 votes against Rajendra Bhandari of BJP who had 1504 votes. Additionally, there were 44 votes for NOTA, totaling 3119 votes.
Following 9 rounds of counting in Mangalore, the Congress candidate Kazi Mohammad Nizamuddin secured 30173 votes, slightly ahead of BJP’s candidate Karatar Singh Bhadana who got 30080 votes. In Badrinath, Lakhpatt Butola of Congress was leading with 15940 votes against BJP’s Rajendra Bhandari who had 12544 votes.
The significant victory for the Congress party in the Uttarakhand Assembly by-election showcases a shift in the political landscape, reiterating the electorate’s choice.
