Veteran BJP Leader Lal Krishna Advani to Receive Bharat Ratna
Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart Lal Krishna Advani has been chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement through a post on social media platform X, expressing his happiness and personally congratulating Advani.
Advani’s decades-long service to the nation has been lauded by many, and his contribution to the development of India is regarded as monumental. Starting his political career from grassroots level, Advani rose through the ranks and served as the Deputy Prime Minister of India. He also held important ministerial portfolios including Home Minister and I&B Minister, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s governance.
The veteran leader’s parliamentary interventions have been widely appreciated for their richness and depth of insights. Throughout his career, Advani has been known for his committed efforts to strengthen democratic values and institutions in the country.
Joining the chorus of congratulatory messages, fellow BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi expressed his great fortune to have had the opportunity to work with Advani, as well as with Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Nanaji Deshmukh, all of whom have been honored with the Bharat Ratna.
Advani’s name now stands alongside other eminent personalities who have received the prestigious award in the past. This includes Karpoori Thakur, Madan Mohan Malviya, Pranab Mukherjee, Bhupen Hazarika, and Nanaji Deshmukh.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath described Advani as an inspiration to all. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wished Advani a long and healthy life, and NCP president Sharad Pawar acknowledged Advani’s valuable contribution to the nation’s development.
