WDSU Chief Meteorologist Arrested for Domestic Abuse

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — WDSU Chief Meteorologist Devon Lucie was arrested early Sunday morning by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office following a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
According to an arrest report, deputies responded to a call at Lucie’s home after a dispute between the couple escalated overnight Saturday into Sunday. When officers arrived, both Lucie and his girlfriend showed signs of injury.
The incident reportedly began at a music festival in Gretna, where the couple had an argument. Lucie left the festival, while his girlfriend returned home with her mother. She later entered Lucie’s home uninvited, where their argument continued.
Witnesses reported that Lucie left the home but later returned to physically assault his girlfriend in the bedroom while her two children were sleeping in the living room. The arrest document states that she sustained several small cuts and scratches as well as other injuries.
Lucie, 48, was charged with domestic abuse with child endangerment and resisting an officer by refusing to provide his name and date of birth. The report detailed that Lucie did not cooperate with deputies, refusing to get dressed or clean his injuries.
As a result of the incident, WDSU has placed Lucie on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
Additional details will be provided as this is a developing story.
