Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batter, Dhruv Jurel, recently shared insights into a hamstring injury he faced during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Jurel emphasized the severity of the injury, mentioning that the situation could have escalated had he not opted to sit out a game for recovery purposes.

The 22-year-old was absent from RR’s match against Delhi Capitals on May 7 but made a return as an impact substitute in their game against Chennai Super Kings on May 12.

Speaking to the broadcasters, Jurel expressed his relief at feeling much improved after managing the hamstring injury.

Following his recovery, Jurel rejoined the Rajasthan XI for their match against Punjab Kings on May 15 in Guwahati, looking to make a significant contribution as the team aims for a top-two finish in the points table.

Rajasthan Royals secured their playoff berth, becoming the second team after Kolkata Knight Riders to do so in the ongoing IPL season.

Recalling the injury scare, Jurel had to leave the field with a limp during a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad after straining his hamstring while attempting to prevent a boundary hit by Travis Head off a delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal.
