Youth Detained After Disturbance at North Charleston Pharmacy

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A youth was detained by police following a reported disturbance at a CVS pharmacy on Ashley Phosphate Road on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:32 p.m., and the boy, whose name has not been released due to his age, faces charges of third-degree assault and breach of peace.
According to the North Charleston Police, officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving a youth who was allegedly armed. After a brief struggle, officers were able to detain the boy. Fortunately, no weapon was found, and there were no injuries reported during the incident.
The juvenile was subsequently released into the custody of a parent. Officials noted that videos of the encounter are circulating online, and the police department is currently reviewing body-worn camera footage from the incident.
