Apple Rumored to Launch Thinner iPhone 17 Models in 2025

Cupertino, California – As the release cycle for the iPhone 16 continues, rumors are already surfacing about the iPhone 17 models expected in 2025. Apple is rumored to introduce a significant design update, the first major change since the iPhone X launched in 2017.
The anticipated lineup includes four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new device called the iPhone 17 Air. Apple plans to discontinue the Plus model due to its lack of popularity, offering the Air as a new middle-ground option.
Reports suggest the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.6-inch display and a slim chassis measuring 6mm thick or less. This model aims to provide a comparable experience to the MacBook Air and iPad Air, while the Pro models will maintain sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches.
Apple is also expected to enhance its ProMotion display technology, extending the 120Hz refresh rate from Pro models to all versions of the iPhone 17. LTPO OLED displays are likely to enable smoother scrolling, while also supporting always-on display technology, although its availability remains uncertain across the models.
As for the aesthetic aspects, leaks suggest a potential color change for the Pro models, hinting at a new light blue option. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro might feature a half-glass, half-aluminum exterior for added durability.
On the camera front, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may include an upgraded 48-megapixel Telephoto camera, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to sport a single lens 48-megapixel camera. As for processing power, the iPhone 17 Air could be one of the first models to utilize Apple’s new modem chip.
Finally, various rumors hint at innovative design changes, including a horizontal camera bump for the iPhone 17 Air and Pro models. In contrast, the standard iPhone 17 is likely to retain the design of its predecessor, with minimal updates.
