H.r. 1 One Big Beautiful Bill Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The House Rules Committee met today to discuss the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This follows the Senate’s completion of its review, sending the bill back to the House for final approval.

Committee Chair emphasized the significance of the bill, highlighting that many original provisions remain intact despite Senate amendments. ‘While I don’t often think that the other body improves our legislation, it’s important to recognize that much of what the House included in H.R. 1 is still present,’ the Chair stated.

The Chair described the bill as a substantial opportunity for American prosperity, indicating it will enhance tax relief, boost economic growth, and increase investments in border security. ‘This bill gets Americans back to winning again,’ he said.

Throughout the discussion, the Chair dismissed criticisms from opposition members, asserting that Americans see through fearmongering tactics. ‘They’re not buying into the fearmongering because they know better,’ he said.

As the meeting progressed, he underscored the potential repercussions of failing to pass H.R. 1: ‘A failure to pass this legislation carries serious negative implications for hardworking taxpayers and the nation.’ Issues outlined included potential job losses, diminished wages, and threats to national security.

The Chair concluded by urging swift action to deliver the bill to President Trump’s desk. ‘President Trump has his pen in hand and is waiting for us to move forward. Let’s get this done and keep the wins coming,’ he urged, before yielding to Ranking Member Mr. McGovern for his comments.
