América De Cali Team News

Bello Horizonte, Colombia – América de Cali will kick off its Liga BetPlay season against Llaneros, but the team will do so without two of its standout players, Duván Vergara and Juanfer Quintero. Coach Gabriel Raimondi has selected his 20 players for this significant debut.

The team is working to recover from a tumultuous few weeks. Quintero’s potential exit has been the focus of attention as they prepare for the official competition schedule, which includes local league matches and the Copa Sudamericana playoffs against Brazil’s Bahia.

Both Vergara and Quintero have confirmed their departures from the team, with Vergara already having joined Racing and Quintero on the verge of transferring to River Plate. These changes come at a critical time for América as they aim to make a strong start this season.

Despite these losses, the team’s new signings, Kener González, Dylan Borrero, and Jhon Murillo, are included in the matchday squad. Notably absent from the selection is Manuel Caicedo.

The team list includes goalkeepers Jorge Soto and Santiago Silva; defenders Marcos Mina, Jean Pestaña, Ómar Bertel, Daniel Bocanegra, Cristian Tovar, and Mateo Castillo; midfielders Josen Escobar, Dylan Borrero, Kener González, José Cadavía, Joel Romero, Sebastián Navarro, Luis Paz, and Rafael Carrascal; and forwards Jhon Murillo, Rodrigo Holgado, Luis Ramos, and Cristian Barrios.

As América de Cali looks to start its campaign on a positive note, the pressure is on the new lineup to perform against Llaneros in this crucial opening match.
