PAPILLION, Nebraska, USA — Lucid Motors (LCID) is set to launch the more affordable Gravity Touring electric SUV later this year. This move follows the opening of orders for their Gravity SUV last November.

A recent email from Lucid confirmed the Gravity Touring is still slated for release in 2025, despite a slower-than-expected production ramp-up. Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff discussed the ongoing challenges during the company’s second-quarter earnings call, including a significant supply chain issue related to Earth’s magnets.

Winterhoff mentioned that Lucid has finally obtained the necessary materials and licensing required to boost production significantly in the latter half of 2025.

The Gravity SUV’s current trim, known as the Gravity Grand Touring, is priced starting at $94,900 in the U.S. The new Touring model will come in at a lower price point of $81,550, which includes shipping costs.

Lucid has also started taking orders for the Gravity Grand Touring in Europe, where deliveries are expected to commence in early 2026 at a starting price of 116,900 euros ($137,000) in Germany. The Gravity Touring price in Europe will start at 99,900 euros ($117,000).

Looking ahead, Lucid plans to expand its lineup with additional lower-priced electric vehicles. The company revealed last year it intends to launch a family of midsize electric vehicles on a new platform, beginning with a crossover SUV priced around $50,000, targeting the competitive market of Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y.

During a presentation at the recent Munich Motor Show, Winterhoff confirmed that the new midsize platform has sufficient funding for continued development into 2026, with initial production expected for the standard midsize SUV.

Lucid’s strategy seems aimed at capturing a growing market of consumers looking for more affordable electric vehicles, alongside expanding their lineup with innovative designs.
